What We Offer
Discover the beauty of Lake Victoria, Africa's largest lake, through our sustainable boating excursions.

Why Choose Us?
Our guides are native to Western Kenya and the Abasuba community, bringing authentic local knowledge and deep cultural understanding to every experience. With intimate familiarity of Lake Victoria's islands, hidden trails, and community customs, our team ensures you discover the genuine heart of the region that most travelers never see.
Sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We minimize environmental impact through careful waste management, support local conservation initiatives, and operate with a leave-no-trace philosophy. Our eco-friendly accommodations and transportation options ensure your adventure contributes to environmental preservation rather than degradation.
We reject mass tourism in favor of meaningful cultural exchanges and genuine connections. Our experiences are designed with input from local communities, ensuring respectful engagement with traditions, crafts, and lifestyles. You'll participate in daily activities alongside community members, creating memories that go beyond typical tourist encounters.
Every adventure with Suba Eco Travellers directly benefits local communities. We employ local guides, source food from regional farmers, and support community-owned accommodations. A portion of all proceeds funds educational initiatives, healthcare improvements, and environmental conservation projects throughout the Abasuba region.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book an experience with Suba Eco Travellers?
Booking is easy! Simply contact us via phone (+254 700 123 456), email (info@subaecotravellers.com). Our team will respond within 24 hours to discuss your interests, travel dates, and help you plan the perfect eco-adventure.
What should I pack for my eco-tourism adventure?
We recommend lightweight, breathable clothing suitable for warm weather, with some warmer layers for evenings. Comfortable walking shoes, sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), insect repellent, a reusable water bottle, and a small backpack are essential. For specific activities like hiking or water-based adventures, we'll provide a detailed packing list upon booking.
How physically demanding are your activities?
We offer experiences for all fitness levels, from gentle nature walks to challenging mountain hikes. Each activity listing includes a difficulty rating, and our team can help you select experiences that match your physical abilities. Many activities can be customized to accommodate different fitness levels within the same group.
What measures do you take to ensure sustainability?
Sustainability is at our core. We practice leave-no-trace principles, use local resources and suppliers, limit group sizes to minimize environmental impact, support conservation initiatives, and educate both visitors and local communities about environmental protection. A portion of all proceeds directly funds local conservation projects.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions or special needs?
Absolutely! We can accommodate various dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and most allergies with advance notice. Please inform us of any special needs or mobility restrictions when booking, and we'll work to ensure your comfort and safety throughout your experience.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand plans can change. Bookings cancelled more than 30 days before the start date receive a full refund minus a small administrative fee. Cancellations 15-30 days prior receive a 50% refund. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for cancellations less than 15 days before the experience, but we can often help reschedule for a future date.
Do I need travel insurance for your experiences?
Yes, we strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, evacuation, and trip cancellation. While we maintain the highest safety standards, adventure activities in remote areas always carry some inherent risks that should be covered by personal insurance.
What languages do your guides speak?
Our guides are fluent in English and Swahili. Many also speak local languages including Dholuo and Suba. For guests requiring other language support, we can arrange specialized guides with advance notice for languages such as French, German, and Spanish (additional fees may apply).
